Manohar Parrikar, Goa Chief Minister passed away on Sunday evening after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer at age 63.
Manohar Parrikar was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer in February 2018 and had been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, Delhi and New York since.
“Extremely sorry to hear of the passing of Shri Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa, after an illness borne with fortitude and dignity. An epitome of integrity and dedication in public life, his service to the people of Goa and of India will not be forgotten,” tweeted President of India Ram Nath Kovind.

Earlier today, it was reported that Manohar Parrikar was critical but ‘stable’. Several reports suggested that the BJP top brass was busy in meetings to decide a handover of leadership.
A condolence meeting will be held in the Union Cabinet at 11 am on Monday.
Manohar Parrikar is survived by his two sons, Utpal Parrikar and Abhijat Parrikar.
