Singaporean actor Aloysius Pang Wei Chong, 冯伟衷, died on 23 Jan 2019 at age 28. He was on reservist training in New Zealand where he was participating in Exercise Thunder Warrior, at Waiouru Training Area, New Zealand.

On 19 Jan 2019 (Saturday), the actor sustained serious injury to his chest and abdominal areas while carrying out repair works on a Singapore Self-Propelled Howitzer.

He was transferred to the Battalion Casualty Station where he was assessed and stabilized by the medical officer before being evacuated to Waioru Camp Medical Centre for treatment to be continued.

Later he was heli-evacuated to Waikato hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand where he underwent surgery and was monitored in a high dependency unit.

On 21 Jan 2019 (Monday), a follow-up relook surgery which was planned for was successfully completed. A medical team from Singapore worked with the New Zealand team to provide the best possible care for Aloysius Pang.

The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) made arrangements for his next of kin to be flown to New Zealand.

Dr Teo Li Tserng, Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, was flown in to assist the New Zealand medical team tending to Aloysius Pang.

Despite surgical attempts to repair damaged organs and putting him on artificial life support, Aloysius Pang succumbed to the injuries and passed away on 23 Jan 2019.

The SAF will be making arrangements to bring the body of the late CFC (NS) Pang back to Singapore.

We at Kupocity extend our deepest condolences to the family of Aloysius Pang.
