The Cast of The Little Mermaid 2.0

In the world of movie remakes, Disney’s reimagining of its first-ever animated picture, Snow White, and The Little Mermaid 2.0 are making waves. While Rachel Zegler is set to play Snow White, Halle Bailey is putting her own spin on the iconic role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid 2.0.

Halle Bailey, who is half of the musical sister act Chloe X Halle, is set to play the beloved mer-teenager alongside Javier Bardem as her father, King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as the villain, Ursula. Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, and Daveed Diggs lend their voices to animated versions of Flounder, Scuttle, and Sebastian.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of the hit Broadway musical Hamilton, is working with the original film’s composer, Alan Menken, to bring fresh life into the musical numbers, as well as penning original songs.

Recently, a teaser of Halle’s angelic voice singing “Part Of Your World” was released, and the official trailer was premiered on the Oscars stage, introduced by Halle and McCarthy themselves. The trailer promises an exciting and vibrant remake, and we can’t wait to see the full film.
