Wong Ching Kit, the man who orchestrated the “Money can fall from the sky” stunt last year December has admitted to assisting his company’s new cryptocurrency in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong.
Wong Ching Kit who is also known as the 幣少爺 (Bì shàoyé) “Coin Young Master” and the owner of Facebook page Epoch Cryptocurrency.
According to a report by South China Morning Post, “Magistrate Leung Siu-ling sentenced the businessman ‘Wong Ching Kit’ to 10 days’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.”
According to wikipedia, “a suspended sentence is a legal term for a judge’s delaying of a defendant’s serving of a sentence after they have been found guilty, in order to allow the defendant to perform a period of probation.”
Magistrate Leung Siu-ling said that Wong Ching Kit’s promotional stunt “was not ideal” and “could easily have turned ugly when there were up to 300 people on site”.
Wong Ching Kit’s defence lawyer had appealed for a fine as punishment, saying that his Wong did not know his action would “cause an obstruction”, however Magistrate Leung Siu-ling considered fines was unsuitable since Wong Ching Kit “was not a man of clear record.”
Wong Ching Kit has also been accused and arrested for fraud after investors launched a suit against him earlier this year for selling ‘mining machines’ investors as part of a failed “File Cash Coin” cryptocurrency venture.
