Singaporean actor Aloysius Pang, 冯伟衷, died while he was participating in Exercise Thunder Warrior, at Waiouru Training Area, New Zealand.
On Youtube’s trending Video we came across a video that explains what happened during the incident.
According to the video Chief of Army Major-General Goh Si Hou was at a press conference at MINDEF HQ and shared the following details:
Aloysius was an armament technician. He was trained to perform maintenance and repair for the SSPH.
At the time of the incident, Aloysius was with another technician and also a gun detachment commander. They were called in to perform diagnosis on a suspected fault in the gun. As part of the rectification process, the gun barrel was to be lowered to standby position.
It appears from the initial findings that Aloysius was unable to get out of the way as the gun barrel was lowered as part of this task.
He was caught between the end of the gun barrel and the interior of the SSPH. He suffered crush injuries as a result.
