Meet Xin Xiaomeng, the news anchor at China’s Xinhua state news agency. However Xin Xiaomeng isn’t real, It is an artificial intelligence robot!
On 03 Mar 2019 Sunday, China’s Xinhua used a lifelike artificial but lifelike robot news anchor to present a story about delegates attending an annual parliament meeting in Beijing.
Xin Xiaomeng’s facial expression and mannerisms are so real that it has shocked the world and fooled many into believing that the A.I robot was a real life news anchor person.
Now you are wondering how does Xin Xiaomeng looks like.. Well in the recent one-minute video presentation by Xinhua, the artificial intelligence robot sports a short haircut and wears a pink blouse and earrings.
An interesting fact that was made known to public is that the AI Xin Xiaomeng is modeled after a real life news anchor from Xinhua by the name of Qu Meng in both appearance and voice. The AI robot was developed by Xinjua and tech firm Sogou Inc.
Xin Xiaomeng is not the first AI news anchor. Last year November at the world internet conference held in Chinese town Wuzhen, Xinjua displayed two AI news anchors dressed in men’s clothes.
