Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania Movie Plot
The movie begins with Scott Lang, the current Ant-Man, living a happy life with his girlfriend, Hope van Dyne, and their daughter Cassie. However, Cassie has become estranged from her father due to her involvement in political activism. When they visit Hope’s parents, Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, Cassie reveals she has been working on a device that can establish contact with the Quantum Realm. Janet, who was trapped in the Quantum Realm for years, panics and shuts off the device, but the message is received, and they are pulled into the Quantum Realm.
Hope, Janet, and Pym encounter Lord Krylar, a former ally of Janet’s, who reveals that Kang, a new ruler, now controls the Quantum Realm. They steal Krylar’s ship and flee. Meanwhile, Scott and Cassie are found by natives who are rebelling against Kang’s rule. The rebels reveal that Janet’s involvement with Kang indirectly led to his rise to power. Soon, Kang’s forces attack, led by M.O.D.O.K., who is revealed to be Darren Cross, the villain from the first Ant-Man movie.
Janet confesses why she wanted nothing to do with the Quantum Realm; Kang claimed that he and Janet could both escape if she helped him rebuild his multiversal power core. After they repair it, Janet sees a vision of Kang conquering and destroying entire timelines. Kang reveals he was exiled by his own variants out of fear, which drove Janet to turn on him. Outmatched, Janet used her Pym Particles to enlarge the power core and render it unusable. Kang regained his powers and eventually conquered the Quantum Realm.
Kang demands that Scott help him get his power core back, or else he will kill Cassie. Scott, with the help of Hope, acquires the power core, but Kang reneges on the deal, capturing Janet and destroying her ship with Pym on it. Scott, Hope, and Cassie join forces to fight Kang, with Cross sacrificing his life to help them. They destroy the power core with a combination of Pym Particles and knock Kang into it, causing him to be pulled into oblivion.
As Scott resumes his life, he begins to rethink what he was told about Kang’s death being the start of something terrible happening. In a mid-credits scene, numerous variants of Kang plan their uprising, while in a post-credits scene, Loki and Mobius M. Mobius locate another Kang variant named Victor Timely on Earth in the 1900s.
