A popular theory about Thanos (Josh Brolin) may have been confirmed by an alternate scene from Avengers: Endgame, which can be viewed on Disney Plus.
In the scene, the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) informs Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) that removing an Infinity Stone creates a new timeline, but she also reveals that she has used the Time Stone to see beyond her own death.
She then drops a bombshell Theory About Thanos that the mad titan did not kill anyone with his destructive finger-snap that wiped out half of all existence, but rather willed them out of existence, making their eventual resurrection possible.
While this explains why Black Widow could not be resurrected, it also raises the possibility of Thanos himself being brought back in the future, should Marvel ever decide to do so.
The studio’s writers have not revealed how they might accomplish this, but it’s good to know that the option is available to them.
