Renowned TVB Executive Eric Tsang has firmly denied allegations linking him to an investment scam in northern Myanmar. Speaking to the media upon his return to Hong Kong after undergoing surgery in Taiwan, Tsang expressed his frustration with the proliferation of fake news on the internet.
“As an artist, I typically avoid engaging with such news, and I’m not adept at responding to it. However, due to my role at TVB, I felt compelled to address these rumors,” Tsang stated.
Eric Tsang emphasized the absurdity of the claims that he had been arrested, pointing out that he was in Taiwan recovering from surgery when the alleged incident took place. He condemned the damaging impact of fake news, which has led some individuals to tragic outcomes.
“False information has inflicted harm on many innocent people, even driving some to take their own lives. It’s effortless for those spreading rumors to create misleading content, but it profoundly affects the lives of others. I implore readers not to take such news at face value. Journalists should reflect on their moral responsibilities and the consequences of their actions,” he added.
Tsang announced his intention to investigate the source of these rumors and vowed to pursue legal action against those responsible.
